Dr. Rajesh Sachdeva, Deputy Director of Central Institute of Indian Languages rendered the Welcome address in the Inaugural session of Prof. M. B. Emeneau Centenary International conference on South Asian Linguistics.

       He observed that Prof. M. B. Emeneau was more than a living legend with his works in Indian area is the linguistic proof of spirit of unity in India and stated that Prof. M. B. Emeneau 's works deserves such a gathering and his works are commemorated.

      Welcoming the Chief Guest Prof. A. R. Kelkar, Dr. Sachdeva asserted that he was the living legend in Indian linguistics.

      Rendering a warm welcome to Prof. Udaya Narayana, Director, CIIL, he requested Dr. Singh to lead the deliberations in the conference.
