Vote of Thanks – Prof. Ramasamy

Distinguished chief guest - Prof. Kelkar, our respected Director – Prof. Udaya Narayana Singh, Prof. Rajesh Sachdeva, Prof. Mallikarjun and esteemed members of the audience, I consider this a great opportunity to propose vote of thanks to everyone who is present here. First of all, I'm thankful to our esteemed chief guest, Prof Kelkar, who is one of the most eminent linguists of the country. In spite of several difficulties he had in traveling to Mysore , he could make his presence here because of his special concern and attachment he has for the institute. And I'm also thankful to him for his insightful inaugural address recalling his interactions with Prof. Emaneau and also suggesting measures for the growth of South Asian languages and linguistics. Thanking Prof. Udaya Narayana Singh is like thanking myself, but still, it is to be pointed out hare that but for his initiatives and able guidance such activities in this institute are not possible and for all the moral support that he has given for successfully organizing this conference, On behalf of our staff I express my thanks to him. Our founder director, our beloved founder director, Prof. D P Pattanayak is present here and he has also with great difficulty, he has traveled from Bhuvaneshwar to this place. Lot of problems ha had, but still, all of us know that his presence always inspires and encourages us in all endeavors. I'm extremely thankful to him for his coming and participating in this conference. There are several foreign delegates here, foreign scholars have come here from different countries and I express my profound thanks to all of them for being present here. There are several senior and eminent linguists like Prof. Khubchandani, Prof. Agnihotri, Prof. Subbarao and Prof. Rajendra Singh and also many other professors, researchers and students from different parts of this country and also several scholars from different organizations within Mysore are participating in this conference and I thank them all. Without the co-operation and full support from the academic and administrative staff of the institute, such a programme id not at all possible and I thank all of them who've assembled here. Since the recent past, the project staff of the institute has been a great help in conducting all our programmes and my grateful thanks are to them. As usual the members of the press and media have been helpful to us in covering all our programmes widely in newspapers, in All India Radio and in television programmes. And for the members of the press and media, I express my special thanks. Last but not the least; Dr Mallikarjun deserves special thanks for successfully organizing this conference. With this I thank one and all, thank you.
