During the valedictory session of Prof. M. B. Emeneau Centenary International Conference on South Asian Linguistics some of the eminent participants expressed their opinion about the conference.
Speaking on this occasion, Dr. Rajendra Singh said that "time past is time future", emphasizing that the conference had been a major site of investigation of language study, not just in India but to the rest of the world also. He felt that interacting with the delegates about the future prospects was a great honour to him.
Prof. Hans Henrich Hock , opined that this conference had been a platform to develop a greater body of teachers to train linguists.
Prof. K. V. Subba Rao observed that the conference had contributed to the academic organizations and other areas, representing all participants in terms of academic context. He lauded the efforts of CIIL, which does not offer any academic courses, in organizing this conference so efficiently. |
