In the discussion that followed the session, chaired by Dr. P. P. Giridhar, the following points were raised. Prof. Hans Hock, questioned that whether the concept of glottal stops developing from moving tones did have relevance in his study in this area as it happened in Danish; for which Prof Moral cited the example of Angami in Nagaland. Prof. Sisir Kumar Sinha's made an observation that even Bangla has the phenomenon of 'bidya' becoming 'bidda' and 'goswami' becoming 'gossami' is in fact assimilation.
