Previous Teaching and Research Experience:

I have been teaching Urdu as a Second Language since the past 19 years. Before joining CIIL, I was a Research fellow at Amu, Aligarh when joined CIIL, worked on a project viz 'Language competence, speech preception and evaluation in its respect to Dakkhini Urdu Speakers of Mysore city

Current Responsibilities:

Teching Urdu as a second language to trained Graduae teachers is the main responsibility. in addition, I co-ordinate and conduct workshops, seminars, Orientation Programmes, Contact programmes etc. from time to time. Also I prepare teaching materials required for teacher - learners.

Current Projects:

State school reader level - II for learners in Urdu. When completed it would be useful for child-learners who study urdu as a second language.

Areas of interest:

Mainly interested in teaching and research. INterested in descriptive linguistics, Scoio-linguistics, Language teachikng and translation.

Poetry writing and reading; listening Urdu Ghazals and Playing Badminton.
