Since being founded in 1970, the CIIL library has become one of the leading libraries in Linguistics and allied areas. It stands second in the country to have a fully digitized library.Here a computerized system allows users to obtain coherent means of access to an organized,electronically stored repository of information at their work place.
Bhasha Bharati And Library Automation (BBLA) is a Tenth plan project of CIIL started in 2003 .Main Aim of this project was to automize the entire Library.The Digital Library was inagurated on 5th May 2005.

Ciil Library

Our main collection includes books and periodicals in print media and non book materials like microfiche, microfilms, film strips, audio tapes, gramophone disc, floppies, CDs, VCDs, maps, and charts, etc. The collection as of now in CIIL & its regional language centers exceeds 2 lakh books and more than 60% of books are in Indian Languages.
